Uruguay Duck Hunting and Perdiz Hunting
This lodge or "castle" is located on the top of a hill overlooking the Uruguay farmland and marshes that are home to over 11 species of Uruguay ducks. The duck hunting season from May to August is consistent and while teal are the standard at the beginning of the season, the Rosybills and larger ducks move in about mid-June. Uruguay is located below the equator so the seasons are opposite those of North America. When it is so hot and uncomfortable in the U.S., it is nice and cold and ducks are flocking in Uruguay.
There are twenty rooms each with a private bathroom and the dining room is massive. A nice place to enjoy the outstanding dishes of the chef that prepares game, Uruguay fare, and South American staples such as beef, empanadas, paella, and more. Who could think of South American dining without the accompaniment of good wine. The wine cellar that has several wines locally grown in Uruguay is a great part of the Uruguay duck hunting experience. Uruguay wine is difficult to find in the U.S. so enjoy the pure, fresh grapes that are grown throughout Uruguay.
